Strand I: Leadership
Transformational Leadership Development: Change, Representation, Equity and Access
Open to all language educators, this strand develops leadership through the Social Change Model as a foundational framework to focus on individual, group, and societal change. Teachers will learn to develop leadership skills at all levels, from classroom to district, state, regional, and national platforms. Key tenets include the power of representation, ethical and equitable practices, and opening the doors of opportunity through accessible approaches. In a time of challenging socio-political contexts, you will learn advocacy strategies for promoting language learning alongside positive social change. Key takeaways will include leadership development, actionable steps, mentorship, and identity-based leadership. Come to learn, grow, build community, and put steps into practice.
